How to add a white border

This is pretty helpful when making CGs. Adding a white(or any other colour) helps you save the CG better on any background colour. This can also be used on pixels as well.
First of all, I'll be using Paint Shop Pro 9. Any other version is PSP look pretty much the same so you won't have any trouble following.

See how having a CG on another background colour other than white isn't that much pretty? Having a border takes out those white spots and make the CG much prettier. :)

Step 1: I'll be using the pink bear as my example. Your CG must have a white background colour or any colour you desire. Something like this:

Step 2: Select the image by using the magic wand tool . After that, go to Selections » Invert. This step is to make us just select the bear/CG.
Selecting the image

After Invert

Step 3: Now to add the border, go to Selections » Modify » Expand....[Click here] You can choose the number of pixel you want your border to be. Choosing 2 or more is easier to make the image transparent.

Step 4: Copy Merged the selecting image and paste it on a new image. This time, the new image should have another colour background. Mine will be green.

Be sure to make the image transparent and save it.
