How to add a white border

Learn how to make your images transparent using PSP :) Useful for pixels and CGs!
First of all, I'll be using Paint Shop Pro 9. Any other version is PSP look pretty much the same so you won't have any trouble following.

Step 1: Your image must have a simple coloured background. For this example, I'll be using this:


Step 2: When you have your image, decrease the colour depth to 256 Colors by going to Image » Decrease Color Depth » 256 Colors. [Click here]

Step 3: Now go to Image » Palette » Set Palette Transparency.... [Click here]
You should see something like that. Now drag your mouse over and click on the colour you want to be transparent. In this case, I'd click on the green part. Once you've click on the green part, click on Proof. It'll take away the green colour to show you how it will look. Once you are satisfied on how it looks, click on Ok

Step 4: Once you've clicked on Ok, go to File » Save As.... Save your image in .gif.

Your image should be transparent like this:
